Therapeutic help with back disorders
With back, neck, shoulder and disc problems there are many questions but only one short (three-part) answer.
And this is:
- Your medical practitioner will explain the causes and the therapy available.
- You pay attention to carrying out your practitioner’s advice.
- SAMINA will support your sleep with the correct sleeping system.
Cause of neck pain
Muscle weakness in affluent human beings does not just affect the body’s supporting torso, but also the neck or cervical musculature. Disorders within the neck to head area are termed cervical syndrome (fast eye movements, pain in the back of the head, neck muscle tension and disturbance of equilibrium). Many of these disorders originate from having an incorrect head position during sleep. It is especially important to ensure that head and neck lie in the correct, anatomical position, during sleep. A pillow is of vital importance in avoiding displacement of vertebral segments and muscle and ligament tension.
Cause of shoulder disorders
If the gliding room for the sinews of the rotator cuffs narrow, shoulder pain can be the consequence. However, the pain, localized in the shoulder, can have a variety of causes. Quite often, the reasons for shoulder pain do not lie in that joint but are triggered by the cervical spine or costal joints.
Back pain is often a consequence of having an incorrect sleeping base
A bed base that is too soft encourages the lumbar arch to sag. The result is compression and overstretching of the ligaments and muscular system. Moreover, the intervertebral discs will be forced into a wedge position which through prolapse causes painful pressure on the nerve roots and this eventually will be sensed as back pain. A too soft or too hard bed base can damage the spinal column in all lying positions and cause back pain. It is only possible to lie correctly and prevent back pain by having a sleeping base that is sensitive to the spinal column. The SAMINA sleeping system ensures that your lying position is not too soft, nor too hard, but just right. With SAMINA the line of the body is reproduced in all lying positions with no time lag. You can be sure that the intervertebral discs will maintain their position between the vertebral bodies and that back pain is less likely to occur.
SAMINA sleeping system – the passive prevention of prolapsed intervertebral discs
The lifting of heavy loads, an excessively bent position whilst sitting and writing, gardening and many other things including excessive sport can all lead to a displacement of the vertebral segments from their original positions. These excessive posture changes can cause serious damage to the spine. If the nucleus (gelatine coating) of the intervertebral disc breaks the fibre ring and presses on the nerve roots or the spinal cord, then this is called lumbago or prolapse of the intervertebral discs. There is no risk of perforation if the pain is bearable. In this case stretching movements help to eliminate the wedge position of the intervertebral discs and they can be done during the day as an active preventive activity. The passive preventive action occurs during the night with the Samina sleeping system, which has been developed to support the spine in its normal position.
